Most resellers who feel stuck think they need more inventory or better deals. Then you look at their operation and the inventory is already sitting in the garage — unlisted. The constraint isn't sourcing. It's the speed from received box to live listing. Fix that, and the sales you're "missing" were never a demand problem.

Time-to-list is the metric to watch. Inventory that isn't listed earns nothing and costs you storage and cash flow. The clock that matters isn't how fast things sell — it's how fast a received unit becomes a live listing. Measure it. Most people have never looked.

Batch the repeatable, triage the rest. Your reorderable SKUs should have templated listings you clone in minutes, not rebuild each time. Save the custom, item-by-item work for the one-off and closeout inventory that actually needs it. Treating every SKU as bespoke is what buries people.

A mediocre listing today beats a perfect one next month. Perfectionism is a bottleneck in disguise. Get it live, then improve the winners once you see what moves. An unlisted "perfect" listing has a conversion rate of zero.

Systematize before you scale volume. Doubling your inventory before you've fixed time-to-list just doubles the pile in the garage. Get the listing pipeline tight first — then more inventory becomes more sales instead of more backlog.

The resellers who break through aren't buying more. They're closing the gap between "arrived" and "live." Sourcing gets the credit, but throughput is what actually scales.
